The Best Gift
Throughout life we get many gifts from birthdays to weddings and at Christmas of course. Some gifts are held to the very last to open because they are the big present your parents knew you were waiting for the entire time. Then there are gifts that we get throughout our lives after possibly years of waiting and hoping everything works out great in order to get that new vehicle or new home. Then there is the wonderful gift of precious children who bring so much joy and love into our lives along with a whole lot of excitement watching them grow and develop. Then there is the ultimate gift which transforms the very internal soul of mankind changing their hearts and minds forever with a glorious hope of eternal life. The wonderful gift of salvation made possible by faith in Jesus Christ the son of God. The Lord who first loved us and saves by his mercy not by our own works. The mercy and grace of God reached down from heaven and revealed that Jesus which is and which was and which is to come, the Almighty is the son of God. So, when a person hears the truth of the good news that Jesus came in the flesh died for their sins and rose from the dead so they could have everlasting life, they have the opportunity to receive the Best Gift ever. The Lord gives us all things richly to enjoy so all the other good gifts he bestows upon His children. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning (James 1:17). Therefore, the great love of God gives gifts unto men from the water and rain poured out from heaven to water the earth and allow the herb to grow food, or a beautiful sunrise over the horizon that makes the heart of man happy. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened (Romans 1:20-21). So, it is vitally important to give honor and thanks to our creator for all the good gifts He freely gives us because He loves and cares for His children and would that none should perish but that all should come unto the knowledge of the truth.
Furthermore, God’s gift includes teaching his children as they humble themselves under his mighty hand His ways so He can direct them into good paths over the course of their lives. This is revealed throughout scripture with men and women of the bible who fully trusted in the guidance of God’s hand and provision. We learn of Abraham, the father of faith, who trusted God throughout his life and especially in his older age to see the fulfillment of the heavenly Father’s promise. Then there is Moses who trusted and experienced God revealing Himself through a burning bush with directions into the spiritual realm which would provide the children of Israel in the future with victory and deliverance. Then of course, there is the king of kings and Lord of lords, Jesus Christ Himself who trusted His heavenly Holy Father God. He trusted the Father’s divine plan to bring reconciliation, redemption, and restoration to the whole world. Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision and those who believe by faith that Jesus is the son of God open the greatest gift ever given.
God’s love throughout scriptural history was constantly hearing the cry of his people when they needed help and preparing His children for deliverance by His miracle working hand. He visited His people and spoke to them through dreams, visions, prophets, and through the holy scriptures for His Word is forever settled in the heavens and Jesus’ words are Spirit and they are life. The same way He spoke to Abraham and revealed that His seed would be in bondage for four hundred years and in continuance and in fulfillment of His promise they were also delivered as it came to pass “even the selfsame day” after four hundred and thirty years.
Genesis 15:13
And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;
Exodus 12:41
And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years, even the selfsame day it came to pass, that all the hosts of the LORD went out from the land of Egypt.
Revelation 11: 3
And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
Daniel 12:11
And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.
Now fast forward to the twenty first century and examine the holy scriptures and the days in which we live where mockers mock the truth, evil men and seducers wax worse and worse, and they call evil good and call good evil. Where the young innocent precious gifts are harmed and children are led astray into a way that is not good by framing mischief into laws to manipulate young impressionable innocent children to mutilate their bodies through so called gender transitioning which is certainly child abuse as developmentally it is estimated that brain development until 19 years of age is required to fully understand such life altering decisions. Corrupt politicians receiving funding from so called planned parenthood which is destroying parenthood and children for gain. While the same in return seek to illegally fund planned parenthood at taxpayer expense. Globally, Christian persecution around the world has risen over the past five to ten years making Christians the most persecuted group. Communist governments in China and North Korea have targeted Christians along with Islamic Extremist states funding terrorism targeting Christians in Nigeria and other regions of Africa through political meandering and illegitimate elections. Of course, recently it has been the leading terror state of Iran and jihadist nations and leaders that support the regime and its proxies as they attempt to terrorize God’s chosen people the children of Israel.
These developments bring to light the certainty and soon return of the Lord to judge the world in righteousness and to once again deliver His people for good; while punishing the wicked for their evil deeds. Even though like scripture teaches some confess the Lord with their mouths but their works deny Him being abominable. Then some lie to deceive and bear false witness to trap the innocent as if God did not see it to requite it with His hand. Both the book of Revelation and the book of Daniel detail a time when the transgressors are come to the full which is given in exact days and is around a three and a half year period. So, why the waiting like patient Abraham must His holy people endure such evil times at the end of the age. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). The good news is that the Lord is soon to return in the clouds of glory and His people will rule and reign with Him. Repent and be reconciled to God through His son Jesus Christ before it is too late.
