Today we are going to look at the fear of the LORD versus the lies, deceptions, and counterfeit of Satan, sin, and the world. God’s word tells us that God has given believers a spirit of power, love, and sound mind. The counterfeit spirit from Satan is the spirit of fear.
God’s word tells us that the fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge. It also tells us that the fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. Therefore, when we are following the LORD in obedience, we will be able to make wise decisions. The lie, deception, and counterfeit belief is that we need to fit into the world’s patterns and make decisions according to the world’s ways.
The LORD tells us to fear Him but the world, sin, and Satan want us to have the fear of man. When we fear man, we will be serving man’s desires, serving sin, and serving Satan. Fear of man is a snare but the fear of the LORD will lead us to knowledge that the world does not know or understand.
There is no fear in love. When we display perfect love like our Heavenly Father, fear will be cast out. With fear there is torment! When we know and receive the perfect love of God the Father, we will be able to love ourselves and others perfectly. Then fear will have no place and will be cast out. God is love; the lie, deception, and counterfeit from the world and Satan is torment and fear.
