Changing History
3. And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head.
4. And there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said, Why was this waste of the ointment made?
5. For it might have been sold for more than three hundred pence, and have been given to the poor. And they murmured against her.
6. And Jesus said, Let her alone; why trouble ye her? she hath wrought a good work on me.
7. For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always.
8. She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying.
9. Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.
The historic scene takes shape shortly before the Lord would give His life and shed his blood for sins of the whole world. This loving saint did what she could Jesus mentions with the precious and costly ointment that would help to change history. Jesus is living the gospel out in real time when the Son of God reveals that future generations world wide would have the gospel preached to them and the memorial of this dear woman of God and what she did to help Jesus.
Luke 24: 46-47
46. And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
47. And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
Fast forward to shortly after Jesus rose from the dead and revealed Himself unto His disciples. Jesus provides the reason why He had to suffer and the purpose of His sacrifice. Once again, the Lord of glory points to the preaching of repentance and remission of sins among all nations. Jesus had made a way for all people to be saved from their sins and turn to God. The great significance of this wonderful salvation would provide opportunities for souls who had lost their way in the busyness of life, or who may have never known the truth because they had been taught lies in idolatry, or folks deceived by false prophets which could have led generations and nations into perdition, hell, the lake of fire. The god of this world having blinded the minds of multitudes of souls through lust, pride, and evil; these men and women could now be made free by the truth of gospel of Jesus Christ the Lord. They could hear the good news of God’s love and mercy on the world and receive the grace of God through Jesus Christ and live forever.
Psalms 102:18
18. This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD.
19. For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the LORD behold the earth;
20. To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death;
21. To declare the name of the LORD in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem;
22. When the people are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve the LORD.
What infinite understanding and depth of wisdom and knowledge that for generations to come and people that shall be created was this incredible hope prepared by God the Father and fulfilled through Jesus Christ the son of God. So, those who were spiritually dead in trespasses and sins without hope in the world could be born again by faith in Jesus Christ the savior of the world and upon those who believe and trust in Him, the Spirit of the living God will be poured out upon them, out of whose belly’s shall flow rivers of living water springing up unto everlasting life.
Psalms 22: 29-31
29. All they that be fat upon earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep alive his own soul.
30. A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.
31. They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this.
Luke 20: 47
46. Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts;
47. Which devour widows’ houses, and for a shew make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation.
Certainly, Jesus gave of Himself in obeying His heavenly Father and being the true light to the world. The true natural and spiritual leader having been manifest in the flesh to bring eternal salvation to fallen man. This being true, the old serpent, the devil seeks to kill, steal, and destroy using counterfeit devices, systems, or figures to look and sound authentic, but in actuality their works and their hearts are corrupt of which Jesus warns; beware. In our generation, this deception is manifest through the democratic party platform of promoting mischief in laws which include killing babies for monetary gain and power, and promoting sodomy laws that seek to supplant and undermine the foundations of our Christian-Judeo values, principles, laws, and traditions. In our generation, great deception is also being mainstreamed through the teachings of false prophets which have infiltrated entire nations and generations through forced conversions. Jesus taught you will know the tree by its fruit, whether it be good or evil. Jesus taught whosoever will let them come to Him. In other words, Jesus gives people the best opportunity ever which is the opportunity to choose life in and through Jesus Christ by receiving the gift of righteousness because of His death on the cross and resurrection from the dead, as Jesus paid the price for us that we could not pay and thus believe in our heart unto righteousness and confess with our mouth unto salvation. Jesus gives people the chance to convert by turning to the light and transforms their lives from the inside out, the inward man.
