Expectation

In my faith journey, I have found how extremely important it is to recognize the tactics of Satan. I had to understand that I had many important choices in my life, including what I listened to and what I come into agreement with. Satan wanted me to believe I had no choices regarding fear. But Satan is a liar and the father of them. There is a type of fear that can overtake a person which is a spirit of fear. Second Timothy, 1:7 says, “For God had not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

As I began spending many hours and days studying scripture and listening to teachings on faith, I had revelation of how doubt and unbelief had infected my faith. Doubt and unbelief had hijacked my expectation. After this revelation, it was my responsibility to come out of agreement with doubt and unbelief. I also had to come out of agreement with the spirit of fear. God had not given me the spirit of fear and I was no longer going to fall into the trap and lie of agreeing with fear.

A lame man from birth was “expecting to receive something” when Peter and John arrived. Peter said, “In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.” This former lame man since birth was filled with expectation that day and he left walking, leaping, and praising God. (Acts 3:1-10)

What we are paying attention to, listening to, and spending time with can all affect our beliefs and attitudes. If we are spending time with others that have faith in Jesus Christ and follow Him, we will be influenced positively. Satan and his evil kingdom will try and feed us with fear and worry, and try to lead us down the path of fear based living. God wants us to use our discernment and become aware of what we are agreeing with intentionally or unintentionally.

As followers of Jesus Christ, we will not conform to the patterns of this world. We will be living in expectation of the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. As we continue to walk by faith, we will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living for our lives.

As you continue to seek Jesus with all your heart, you will find the truth and breakthrough you are looking for!
