The Spirit-powered Way of Escape Battle Plan offers fresh hope for those still struggling to break free from sins of the flesh. The really big “What’s New?” in the Way of Escape Battle Plan? Fresh hope for escape without ever having to enlist the aid of an accountability partner or group.

WANTED: ESCAPE WITHOUT ACCOUNTABILITY

Unquestionably, accountability-based purity programs are helping the hurting. But there are so many more that still want to be helped. A survey by the respected Barna Group revealed that a whopping 83% of persons wanting to quit porn still have nobody in their life to help them quit [1]. 83% of persons wanting to quit porn are still looking for a way of escape that does not require enlisting the aid of an accountability partner or group.

Percentagewise, 83% of persons (5-of-6) wanting to quit porn are not seeking the help of an accountability partner/group to help them quit. But what are we talking about in terms of sheer numbers of persons? A few thousand? Maybe even a few tens of thousands?

Let’s do some quick math. One organization alone reports that over 2 million men have gone through their accountability-based purity program [2]. But only one of every six persons (1-of-6) wanting help are seeking the help of an accountability partner or group. There thus remains an estimated minimum of 10 million (=5 x 2 million) persons still longing for a way of escape that does not require enlisting the aid of an accountability partner or group.

Why a minimum of 10 million persons? The organization cited above, while certainly boasting one of the largest number of followers, is not the only entity offering accountability-based help. Additionally, while the majority of sufferers are male, this is not an issue affecting only men. The 2 million men statistic cited above is therefore only a lower bound on the total number of persons that have sought accountability-based help. The estimated 10 million persons still longing for a way of escape that does not require enlisting the aid of an accountability partner/group is therefore also only a lower bound.

FOUND: ESCAPE WITHOUT ACCOUNTABILITY

In A Way of Escape, readers learn how to triumph over the flesh by stepping up the degree to which they are “walking in the Spirit” (Galatians 5:16). Readers learn how to build a library of Spirit-anointed, flesh-diffusing apps. Apps that are uniquely fitted to them, and their unique Spirit-filling triggers. The Holy Spirit then leads the escape.

I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh (Galatians 5:16).

The 83% now have another option. The 83% now have fresh hope for discovering that long-sought-after way of escape from sin and temptation (I Corinthians 10:13). A way that—because it is wholly Spirit-powered—does not require enlisting the aid of an accountability partner or group.
