From Disappointment to Divine Appointment (HEiots.com)

Navigating Life’s Challenges with Faith

In life, we often find ourselves facing what seem like insurmountable challenges—God- For Dave Pearman, author of “His Eye is on the Sparrow,” the road to discovering God’s divine appointment was paved with disappointment at every turn.

But as the saying goes, “Every setback is a setup for God’s divine comeback.” Little did Dave know that each disappointment he faced was merely a stepping stone to his divine appointment.

It was in the depths of his despair that Dave’s path intersected with that of the Pearman family—a chance encounter that would change the trajectory of his life forever. What began as a series of disappointments ultimately led Dave to the doorstep of his divine appointment: the loving embrace of a family who welcomed him as their own.

Like Dave, many of us have experienced moments of deep disappointment, where it feels as though our dreams have been dashed and our hopes shattered.

But what if I told you that these moments of disappointment could actually be divine appointments in disguise? What if, instead of seeing them as roadblocks, we viewed them as opportunities for a radical encounter with God?

So what do we do when faced with disappointment? How do we navigate the seemingly impossible situations that life throws our way?

First and foremost, we must keep seeking God, even in the midst of our pain. We must bring Him our disappointments, laying them at His feet and trusting Him to work all things together for our good. And as we wait for His divine appointment, we do so with patient trust, knowing that His timing is perfect and His plans are always for our benefit.

But waiting doesn’t mean sitting idly by. It means actively doing what God asks of us in the meantime—and doing it with rejoicing always, praying without ceasing, and giving thanks in all circumstances. It means allowing God to mold our character and shape us into the people He created us to be, even as we wait expectantly for His promises to be fulfilled.

So let us embrace our disappointments as opportunities for divine appointments, trusting that God is always at work, even in the darkest moments of our lives. And as we wait with patient hope and unwavering faith, may we discover the beauty of God’s timing and the richness of His grace, leading us from disappointment to divine appointment, one step at a time.

There are many bible verses to cling to as we surrender our disappointments and wait for His divine appointments. These two below are some of my favorite ones.

Psalm 138:8 NLT

The LORD will work out His plans for my life— for Your faithful love, O LORD, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for You made me.

 Romans 8:28 NLT

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them.

Blessings,
Ani Pearman
