Sunday 10th January 2021
Focus: Growing in His BLESSING Pt.2
Text: Luke 11:28 Luke 11:28 But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.
As the year 2021 advances, we shall advance in our spiritual walk with God. We shall not miss our steps to greatness in the year and the Lord shall continually guide our way by His word for our profiting. Amen
We began a series on Growing in His blessings last Sunday, with an emphasis on praising the name of God at all times. Why do we praise Him? He is the custodian of all blessings and His name is worthy to be praised.
Moreover, we shall consider another avenue to growing in His blessings as believers. The blessings of God are the benefits that we enjoy by knowing Him personally, making us people of exploits. (Dan. 11:32).
Many believers keep seeking for His blessings without knowing His person. A poor widow, no matter the intensity with which she knocks at the door of a rich man, without having prior appointment, cannot get any help.
Jesus showed us that we can grow in blessings by hearing and keeping His words (Luke 11:28). The scriptures remain the primary way we can hear His words, our zeal to keep them in order to follow makes us greatly blessed.
A young man completed his first degree from the university and began hunting for jobs all to no avail. Meanwhile, he grew up without a father figure as his mother was abandoned shortly after his birth.
On a Monday, he went to scout for jobs as usual. Along the way, he saw a vacancy in a big hotel; he went in to apply in person. The hotel owner received him in his office for an interview. While it was going on, the man began to take a closer look at his face as he recognised him as his son.
He felt really sorry for his situation and became emotional. He narrated the story of how he abandoned them and they both began to sob. The young man who had been scouting for jobs became the manager of the hotel with immediate effect. His level changed and he remembered his mother.
So you see, your blessing is in knowing the one who has all the blessings. A personal relationship with Him is what opens unimaginable doors to us. The more we know Him by His word, keeping them to heart, the more we grow in His blessing. His words are spirit and life when we hid them in our hearts.
You’re blessed. Keep growing and advancing by His word alone. Amen
