The Truth of Hell
Luke 16:23
And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
Jesus taught this openly and clearer some two thousand years ago, as one with the Heavenly Father; the ancient of days from everlasting to everlasting He is God. Would the unbelief of some make the truth of God of none effect? God forbid let God’s Word be true and every man a liar. Let no man steal your crown. The gospel of Jesus Christ involves infallible truths which are higher than man’s device or deception. Some may try to say everyone is going to heaven, while some may try to explain hell away altogether. However, the Creator of all makes it extremely clear that the place known as hell is as real a place as heaven and earth which He also created. The prosperity of fools shall destroy them, the prosperity of the wicked, and their speaking evil of the way of truth cannot and will not change the truth; no more than saying that truth is subjective to their own interpretation can save them from the clutches of hell fire licking at the dust awaiting the departure of their deprived souls if they have not chosen the only way to avoid hell. No man can keep alive his own soul, and there is no discharge in that war which presents a dilemma for the man or woman who doesn’t know the time of the their departure.
Therefore, the misery of man not knowing their time of death has one and only one way to the true God the Father and that is believing that the Lord Jesus Christ is the son of the living God. He is the way, the truth, and the life and no man can come to the Father but by Jesus Christ. He is also the only way to escape hell. Hell enlarges itself daily the holy scripture teaches and warns men and women to flee the evil trappings of sin, lust, and lies. Spiritually, those things lead to defilement or uncleanness which leads to destruction. Hell is a place of darkness with hope removed for returning from that place. The sad facts remain that some sacrifice to devils and not unto God by proclaiming idol gods, or false gods even though they have a false humility in will worship. Some sacrifice their lives and their bodies through so-called religious practices to make gods of men who never even claimed to be the one true God. Some have believed angels have given them another gospel which the bible warns about in Galatians chapter one. Yet, others claim the even more foolish path of proclaiming they are their own gods evolved from beasts or fish. Thinking themselves to be wise they became fools and worshiped and served the creature more than the creator which is blessed forevermore the scripture teaches. Never thinking well what created the beast or creeping things and the divine order outlined in the book of Genesis. If a man can declare a self proclaimed point of few of his choosing on a t-shirt to display a message he wants to portray, then is it a difficult thing for the God who ordained the stars to get His eternal message of hope across to a hurting world.
The vast amount of evidence and authentic copies of the Hebrew law of the old testament, and the sheer number of copies of the Greek new testament detailing with certainty the history of Jesus’ birth, ministry, miracles, healings, crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension. The archaeological confirmation of the holy scriptures with the discovery of the Dead Sea scrolls, and the geographical accuracy of the divine texts concerning holy sites and cities. Know for a certain that hell is a real place. Know for a certain that God is not a man that He should lie.
Know for a certain there is no escaping the Almighty because if we make our bed in hell He is there. A strange phenomenon seems to occur when rebellion enters the heart of a person which we will discuss in even more detail below. A person can be so blinded by rebellion that they eat the food God has provided for them from heaven with rain to water the earth and spring forth vegetables and provide life giving water for the birds and animals which in turn provide food for us. So, God provides food and water for every living thing, and yet then a man curses God or proclaims he is sufficient without God, or like the fool hath said in his heart there is no God.
How incredibly and willingly ignorant is a rebellious heart and mind to enjoy the fatness of all the good things God has provided upon the earth as they entered life as a helpless baby. The infant child having to be nursed and fed for the child is unable to even care for itself. The baby grows and develops into a child which is taught how to walk and learns how to speak. God allows them the capacity for knowledge and understanding, but His secret is with the righteous. Some will become wise to do good, while the rebellious may become wise to do evil. The patience and longsuffering of God waits as He would that none should perish but that all should come to the knowledge of the truth.
The Purpose of Hell
The bible teaches that Hell was prepared for the devil and his angels. Thus, the purpose is revealed in the fact that pride was found in the heart of lucifer, the devil, the old serpent, and the dragon. He drew out a third of the stars, or possibly a third of the angels left their first estate to follow lucifer. This leads us to quickly consider that if the angels which had likely seen God fell to lucifer’s subtle deception and prideful heart; then how could mortal man stand against the whiles of the devil. The scriptural teaching is clear that he who sins is of the devil.
1 John 3:8
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the
Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
This is why Jesus is the savior of the world.
John 3:
12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
Therefore, a person has a choice to love darkness or love light, to enter heaven by calling on Jesus to save them, or choosing to be led by the principalities of satan (adversary). While many in our day proclaim satan worship and others have held signs saying I will go to hell with smiling faces and laughter as while they have sunshine and plenty of food and good health that they somehow think will sustain them in the day when they awake in hell or everlasting contempt where outer darkness and gnashing of teeth to sounds of terrible torment foment throughout the depths of hell. Where laughing is ceased for ever, the smile that once mocked God is turned into twisted distortion as the soul realizes the hope of their rebellion has ended and they once had a chance upon earth but now hope is completely and utterly gone forevermore. Where the worm dies not. No scholar or skeptic can bring them from this horrible place. No devil that deceived them can pass the great gulf fixed between hell and the paradise of God. No escape route will ever be possible from constant burning in the flame. The scripture teaches that certain leaders will be there which will take comfort in the fact they caused such multitudes to be tormented along with them. The bible teaches it is better to put your trust in the Lord than to put your confidence in man, or in princes. If you are reading this now and have not repented of your sins and believed in Jesus Christ who died for our sins that He is the son of God, then I plead with you to do so now because this may be the final chance for you to escape hell. If you come to Jesus, He will save you now and give you eternal life.
John 6:37
All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
The bible reveals a great mystery about the causes and effects of choices made and the thoughts and intentions of the heart which lead souls to either the right path with leadeth to life and few their be that find it (the narrow road/straight gate) versus the wrong path of rebellion against God, and evil heart of unbelief which leads to destruction (wide gate/broad road) and many go in thereat. This mystery is the mystery of righteousness and the mystery of iniquity. The mystery of righteousness is the pure in heart shall see God principle in which a person receives the gift of righteousness by Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sin and the feeling of great peace on the inside in the heart and in the soul and in the mind because Jesus cleansed us with His own blood. He also adopts us into His family. The family of God. The mystery of iniquity reveals how the angels themselves could have possibly been deceived by lucifer and the prideful heart. The scripture speaks of leviathan in the book of Job that he was created without fear. This explains how rebellion can callous the heart to a loving God because rebellion seeks to block fear which emboldens souls while blinding souls to the fact that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. So, while a prideful heart and rebellious way against the Almighty seem stout to mortal flesh. The reality is the flesh can not at all contend with the power of the Spirit because God is a Spirit and Jesus Christ was the Word made flesh and by His knowledge He justified many by destroying the works of the devil. This is why Jesus can turn a rebellious ignorant soul to obedience by His righteousness and the knowledge of the truth, that by His grace and mercy He paid our penalty and we do not deserve it nor can we earn it. All He asks of us is to believe in Him and confess Him. Jesus Christ is Lord. God snatches souls out of the clutches of darkness and hell and translates them into the kingdom of his dear Son the Lord Jesus with the promise of His return and eternal life in heaven, the holy city, the new Jerusalem.
Hell’s Final Destination
Revelation: 20
1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
