Judgment and Mercy
John 17:17
Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
Judgment:
The amazing power of God revealed in the holy scriptures; God’s plan and message to man throughout changing times and history unveils a wealth about the Mighty God of Jacob. What blesses God? When was God happy with His chosen people? How did God correct His people throughout time, and how did He restore and help His people?
Make no mistake there was a time in biblical history that the Word teaches that there was no open vision. For example in the days of Samuel, when he was a young boy, the scripture declares:
1 Samuel 3:1
And the child Samuel ministered unto the LORD before Eli. And the word of the LORD was precious in those days; there was no open vision.
Please notice, the phrase which says the word of the Lord was precious in those days. In other words, God communicating to His people during that era of history was not like He communicated at other times. For instance, how the Lord communicated to Moses on the mount where the children of Israel received the blessed commandments and the law of Almighty God. The revealing in a point in time of the expectations of the God of heaven and earth. The God who said let us make man in Our image and Our likeness. The God who breathed into man and man became a living soul after being made from the dust of the earth. This same God delivered the law to His chosen people, who were sanctified, set apart for His purpose, for His secret is with the righteous. His purpose revealed to help his people fear Him all their days as He would descend upon the mount before the people and the mountain quaked and smoke ascended to heaven at the power of the God heaven descending upon the mountain, as the heaven is His throne and the earth His footstool. Furthermore, the time and point in world history when God spoke and guided His people through the mouth of His holy prophets. Holy prophet like Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Isaiah, and His beloved Daniel. Holy men spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. They faced great challenges of opposition from the enemy and rebellious people who had lost their way and turned from the truth of God unto lies, or selfishness, or lust for evil, or for filthy lucre. They also faced resistance from kings and military leaders who refused to take heed to the truth of God’s message that they and many in the entire nation had done great evil in worshiping idol gods which are no gods; gods of silver made by mans hands and device, or false gods they made of the sun and moon, or even a so-called queen of heaven. The terrible perversion of the truth to defile themselves with the corruptions of the nations destroyed before them. The God of righteous judgment warned for years and generations sending His prophets early. The people refused to take heed, killed their children in the fire to a false god of molech. God strove with His own chosen people that this thing never entered into His mind to have them harm their own children. Nevertheless, the people hardened their hearts and the day of visitation drew closer and closer until the day was upon them. Exactly as God had said that His fierce anger and judgment would fall upon the people for lying, stealing, murdering, and polluting their land would cause this fierce wrath to touch them in the time period known to world history as the Babylonian captivity. God then judged the nations whom He allowed to punish His people because they had forsaken Him. One by one the judgment fell upon them as He brought judgment throughout the earth upon the nations for their pride and wickedness and idols.
Mercy:
God still had a plan in place for the remnant of His people who had remained faithful to His law and His righteousness. Seventy years were determined to bring forth an end of His judgment, and to show grace and favor to His people, as well as redemption by dealing with the heart of a king to help them rebuild Jerusalem. Some built the wall while holding swords in case of enemy attacks; nevertheless God’s hand was with His sanctified people to restore the city and Zerubbabel was led to build. So, there was a time for judgment and a time for mercy, and mercy rejoiceth against judgment. Many years went between the historical era of the Babylonian empire to the time of the Roman empire’s world dominance of the majority of the European continent when the Lord Himself would send His only begotten son to be born in a manger and His name was called Jesus. Jesus, the son of God, revealed in the last days in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin to take away sin in His own body on the cross so man whom He created could be free from the sin, evil, and wickedness and be restored in right relationship with their heavenly Father through the sacrifice of His own son Jesus. Jesus, the way, the truth, and the life to give life and no man can come unto the Father but by Jesus. For God so loved the world… and now multiplied millions and even billions have believed and followed Jesus Christ and His holy Words and principles which lead to goodness and purity by His righteousness. Many Christians from every nation and continent will stand before God’s holy throne in white robes because their souls have been made white by the blood of Jesus Christ as they repented of their sins and followed the savior through the challenges and tribulations of this world. The scripture teaches that in this world we will have tribulation, but in Him we will have peace. The ages and generations flash by and are not, and eventually heaven and earth shall pass away, but His Word shall abide forever. The lust of this world shall pass away, but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever. Eternal life was provided and is offered today as the present touches time and He welcomes whosoever will to come to Him so they may have everlasting life. In a moment, in a sincere prayer inside the heart to invite Jesus to be Lord and Savior and to forgive and cleanse and make new. A prayer in a moment of time when the holy angels of God rejoice because a child has come home, and that will have an eternal weight of glory.
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
Truth: Jesus Christ came in the flesh
Romans 1:4
And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection
from the dead:
