Luke 3:2 – May the Word of God “Become IN” (Not Just Come TO) Me!

So, does the word of God come to us or become in us? This study explores a fascinating concept revealed in ancient languages: The word of God did not just “come” to someone. It “became” IN someone.
In citing after citing in the Scripture, the Hebrew and Greek confirm that the word of God more “becomes” in someone rather than is just given to them.
As products of our culture, we see ourselves as individuals to whom things come. But we are contingent beings—beings whose very existence happens “in” God, in whom the “word” of God “becomes if we let it.
Why is Christianity not having the impact it did “back in the day? Could it be that for many of us, propositional truths of God have just “come” to and we’ve “decided” to ascribe to propositional truths about Jesus (in opposition to those who don’t)—as opposed to letting the “word” of God (rather, the “Word” of God Jesus), BECOME IN US?
The following two studies look at this in a typical Jim Valekis over-the-top way.
And on a personal note, this is the criteria I’m judging what’s happening in the news these days. Are the actions we’re hearing about the result of the “Word” of God, Jesus, coming to life in the current actors on the world stage?
Or are we witnessing something else!
May the Word of God always BECOME in me!
And may we all have the courage to be both priestly and prophetic as true “spiritual wilderness” people like Christians are supposed to be!
