As I sit here writing my first post during these turbulent times in America and feel fear creeping in, I choose to think on the scriptures. I choose to pray. I choose to read my Bible and meditate on God’s faithfulness.
I find hope and encouragement in the following verses: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1).
I have been fearful many times in my life especially as I grew up in abject poverty surrounded by crime and violence in the Florida Housing Projects in New Orleans. The sustaining factor that kept me from utter destruction was God’s mercy and faithfulness.
