After an arduous journey, Joseph and Mary arrived in Bethlehem to find no room for them at any of the hotels. It was bad enough that they had to take a mandatory trip, but not having a place to stay once arriving was over the top. This testing of their faith would prepare Mary (Joseph most likely died when Jesus was a teenager) for what was to come later on in life, the murder of her son Jesus. Being told that there was no room opened the door to fulfilling God’s divine plan. This momentary setback in their lives did not take God by surprise since he had ordained it to happen.
Have you been fighting against the setbacks that life has thrown at you? Has it ever crossed your mind that God might have placed these setbacks in your path to propel you into the divine destiny he has ordained for you? What looks like a setback is a setup for your comeback. Being told that there is no room is not the end of your story; it is only the beginning. God has declared that you will lend and not borrow; you will be the head and not the tail. No matter what life throws at you, greater is he that is within you than he that is in the world.
Today, I encourage you to focus on opportunities, not disadvantages. Let God take what was meant for your harm and turn it around for your good. You may be in a dry season, but that is not where the chapter ends because God is about to open the windows of Heaven and shower you with rain. Get ready for the favor of God to overshadow you. They may have told you there was no room, but that was only the rerouting of your steps; by God, it was not the end. Do your part and stay in faith. Let God know by your actions that you will not be a victim since He has declared you a victor. I believe and declare that if you do this, God will show up and show out in your life, taking you places you never thought possible.
