Focus: PEACE, BE STILL!! Pt. 2
Theme: HOW do we RECEIVE DIVINE peace?

Text: Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. John 14:27

It is often those times when we feel like things are silent that we question God’s timing or His will for us, but when you are constantly communicating with the Lord, you don’t give in to these questions. He gives you a peace that surpasses all understanding. – Heater Lindsey

Wisdom for LIFE is a Divine mandate, drawing INSPIRATION and Revelation from the Word and exploring seven focal spheres of human life; enabling everyone to live a balanced life.

Last week, we examined reasons why we need peace. These include the fact that peace is a weapon of warfare against the empty enemies of our souls (1Pet. 5:8). Also, peace of mind grants us stability in our life pursuits and in the face of storms (Gen. 3:1-4; 2 Thess. 3:16).

In this edition, we shall be exploring three (3) Means of Receiving Peace into our souls. As a reminder, peace is the Divine enablement that guarantees our safety in the midst of the storms of life (Mark 4:39).

Life doesn’t give what we deserve or desire; it answers to our demands. Believers keep wallowing unnecessarily in the dark due to ignorance of God’s provision for abundance and sufficiency (Hosea 4:6). God has given us His word as a covenant of peace to our generation.

Hence, the first means of receiving Divine peace is the Word of God, which contains pleasant promises that reassure us of His presence and provisions whenever storms rage fiercely to sink our lives (Isa 41:17).

Furthermore, the Word of God is our source of Direction and Guidance. Many troubles that come our ways are usually consequences of acting without being guided by God. Therefore, to enjoy Divine peace, make His word the lamp to your feet and the light to your way (Ps.119:105).

Secondly, the company we keep influences our peace. If you desire peace, don’t sit with the scornful or the ungodly (Ps. 1:1). Their camps are full of destructions. An association either gets you peace or troubles.

Moreover, peaceful people can impart us with the spirit of peace as we communicate with them regularly. Lot enjoyed much peace because of His relationship with Abraham, who negotiated his deliverance from Sodom.

Thirdly, praying without ceasing is another means of receiving Divine peace (1 Thess. 5:17). A man that prays ahead rides in the storms to greater heights, but who can help a prayerless man in the time of troubles? We build strength and might in the place of prayer.

However, this kind of prayer is called Faith Building Prayer. It is not the bless me kind of prayer!! Do you desire peace in life? Then, pray in the Holy Ghost always (Jude 20), it empowers like no other.

In the next edition, we shall examine selected examples of saints that received Divine peace when they went through storms. Watch out.

We believe that this edition has been a blessing to you, kindly share within your reach. We will appreciate your Feedback and Testimonies.
