THEME: WHO IS IN YOUR SHIP?
TEXT: And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. Mark 4:39
You will find peace not by trying to escape your problems, but by confronting them courageously. You will find peace not in denial, but in victory. You climb the mountains step by step! –Donald Walters.
Wisdom for LIFE is a Divine mandate, drawing INSPIRATION from Revelation gleaned in the Word and exploring seven focal spheres of human life; enabling everyone to live a balanced life.
In the previous edition, we concluded the teaching on Empowered through fasting, looking at the acceptability of our fast before God. We learnt that God isn’t moved by skipping meals (Isaiah 58:3), He responds to a heart that seeks after Him daily in truth and spirit (John 4:24).
In this 42nd edition, we shall be examining the essence of peace in our lives as believers. The world is full of troubles and tribulations; therefore, we must understand how to receive Divine peace when the storm rages against our destinies (Mark 4:37).
Peace is NOT the absence of tribulations, but the power of God to take us through the eyes of the storms of life. In this world, there are troubles; but our anchor is Jesus, the prince of peace (Isa. 9:6); He has assured us of His abiding presence and peace (John 16:33).
I declare over you by His word, that every storm of your life is giving way today and your testimony shall be great in Jesus mighty name. Amen. Name all your storms and declare peace over them. You will have victory.
Challenges are an integral part of life; it’s our capacity to face and conquer them that makes us champions. There are no heavyweight champions without a tough fight (1 Sam. 17:50). That’s why we are admonished to fight the good fight of faith (1 Tim. 6:12).
David became a national hero after conquering Goliath with a sling and stone in the name of the living God. What battles are you fighting? Stop wishing they can disappear, start building courage to face them and triumph over them. Your testimony is the result sheet of your tests.
Moreover, Jesus demonstrated that storms are part of life, no wonder He was sleeping when the storm was raging. He knew what to do. The disciples were terrified and queried His ‘human feelings’. He rebuked them for their little faith and calmed the storm. Just relax!
However, many believers keep rebuking their storms, but it seems the storms are stubborn! The question is who is in your ship? If you’re calling on His name and He is not in your life, the storms will mock you and bring more shame. Jesus is the prince of peace, is He in your life?
In the month of June, we shall be exploring four sub-themes including how to receive Divine peace, why we need Divine peace, examples of saints that received Divine peace and who is the prince of peace? This month shall be peaceful for you in Jesus name. Amen
