Pleasant Surprises Await Those That Learn How to Walk in the Spirit

Pleasant surprises await the individual that learns how to step up the degree to which he/she “walks in the Spirit” (Galatians 5:16). Specifically, this individual is given hope for: (i) enemy “incomings”  reducing in number and in strength, (ii) the mind renewing, and (iii) escaping sexual sins.

WALKING IN THE SPIRIT

I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh (Galatians 5:16).

It is impossible to simultaneously “walk in the Spirit” and satisfy the flesh (Galatians 5:16). Hmmm. If only these “walking in the Spirit” moments could be bottled and instantly recalled whenever the flesh makes an unwanted house call. Escape from sexual sins might be surprisingly easy. At minimum, there ought to at least be a dramatic drop in enemy “incomings.”

PLEASANT SURPRISE #1: DRAMATIC DROP IN ENEMY “INCOMINGS”

Regular, near-daily viewing of the Spirit-anointed apps rewires neural pathways, which, in turn, significantly reduces both the number and strength of enemy “incomings.” In the Way of Escape Case Study, these reduced-strength attacks of the flesh occurred only about one-fifth (1/5) as often, once cleaner neural pathways were established.

PLEASANT SURPRISE #2: COMPLETE MIND RENEWAL

In the Way of Escape Case Study, complete mind renewal was also achieved (for my definition of complete mind renewal, see page 117 of A Way of Escape). Crucial to achieving mind renewal is to first realize that we are not in this battle alone. All genuinely born-again believers are fully indwelt by the Holy Spirit at conversion. For the still-struggling, mind renewal may require doing nothing more than learning how to step up the degree to which they walk in the Spirit (Galatians 5:16). For the still-struggling, mind renewal may require doing nothing more than dropping the passivity, and learning how to actively pursue more regular relationship intimacy with the Holy Spirit.

PLEASANT SURPRISE #3: ESCAPING SEXUAL SINS

Finally, and most significantly, the Way of Escape Battle Plan charts an escape from sexual sins that circumvents the need for an accountability partner or group. As of this writing (June 2022), this sexually healthy, single Christian male has not “acted out” sexually for 100% of days over the most recent 39 months. All credit and praise to the inner-working power of the Holy Spirit to elevate believers to never-imagined heights of holy living (Ephesians 3:20).

A GAME-CHANGING BOOK HAS ARRIVED

In A Way of Escape, readers learn how to step up the degree to which they “walk in the Spirit” (Galatians 5:16). They learn how to build a library of Spirit-anointed, flesh-diffusing apps. Apps that are uniquely fitted to them, and their unique Spirit-filling triggers.

The still-struggling now have another option. The still-struggling now have fresh hope for discovering that long-sought-after way of escape from sin and temptation (I Corinthians 10:13). A way that—because it is wholly Spirit-powered—does not require enlisting the aid of an accountability partner or group. Truly, a game-changer!

AAA-Rated (Academic, Athlete, Author). Academically, Dr. Graf earned his PhD in civil engineering from the University of Akron. Athletically, he pitched on the Zips baseball team, and is a member of the Barberton (OH) Sports Hall of Fame. But all pales in comparison to his latest accomplishment. Author Graf has used his knowledge of God’s Word and Spirit-enabled triumphs over the flesh to break new ground in the Bible-based treatment of porn addictions.
