Redeem
“Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.”
Titus 2:14 (KJV)
The wonderful good news is the power of sin can be completely broken off of a person’s life after having a strong hold for years or either a temporary strong hold.
Redeem: Greek: lutroo: ransom:
from lutron: something to loose: redemption price
Amazingly and thankfully, the power of God through Jesus Christ His son who died on the cross for our sins paid the redemption price for the sins of the whole world. We don’t have to wait for a payment to be made and we don’t have to try to pay any price for the redemption of our own souls because it has been paid in full. Wow, what freedom in knowing if we believe in Jesus Christ and receive His great love we can receive His salvation and receive His gift of righteousness. Oh how sweet it is to think about a perfectly clear and clean conscience because He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities. Oh the terrible weight of guilt and of shame which has tormented so many forgiven Christians who have felt the condemnation of the devil. Of course, the bible teaches that believers should take up their cross and follow Him to be Jesus’ disciples. Of course, we all reap what we sow whether good or evil. Nevertheless, the scripture teaches we have been purged from our old sins and that if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things have passed away behold all things are made new. So, while we may suffer for righteousness sake, that same suffering may reveal the fruit of love and faithfulness the good Master uses to draw people unto the faith in Jesus Christ because they are chosen and elect by Him to be saved and inherit eternal.
2 Timothy 2:10
Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
John 15:2
“Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.”
The Lord’s design is so perfectly wise in life and in the multiplication of life. In the beginning in Genesis, the command to be fruitful and multiply. After the cleansing of the earth by a flood, Noah and family were instructed to replenish the earth. God’s family design is life and more life, not fornication, no dad or mom, killing children in the womb for convenience, or after they are born for harvesting organs in wickedness. God will judge the world in righteousness. Therefore, people should repent of any evil and believe in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins.
