Resurrection
Matthew 27
66 So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.
Ever noticed how the enemy of our souls likes to bring discouragement to make our situation seem hopeless. Good news is the scripture teaches Abraham, who against hope believed in hope because God quickeneth the dead and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
Even after the stone was rolled in front of the sepulchre, they went even further to seal the stone to try and stop the work of God. Good news is nothing can stop the work of God. Good news is the Word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two edged sword and when mixed with faith ignites the power of the Most High so oppression has to let you go, worry has to let you go, doubt has to let you go, strongholds have to let you go, and even the grave will not hold the saint down. A righteous man may fall seven times but the Lord will not utterly cast him down, but will uphold him with His right hand. The enemy wants to throw us down in condemnation like the woman in the bible who they wanted to stone, but Jesus said ye without sin cast the first stone. He also let her know he did not condemn her, but to go and sin no more. The enemy wants to mar our lives because we are created in the image of the holy eternal God of all creation. His (Jesus) visage was so marred more than any man scripture teaches. He took the stone of disobedience, rebellion, lust of the flesh, and sin that was sealed against us by becoming a curse for us and suffering for our sins on the cross so He could translate us out of darkness into His marvelous light. He laid down His own life for us and we are justified because He has risen from the dead. The wonderful love of the savior has planted His Word like a seed in our hearts. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Matthew 28
2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
3 His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:
4 And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.
5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
The bible teaches that death is swallowed up of life. O how wonderful to see the beautiful colors of spring from the new green growth on the trees to the bright flowers sparkling from the cool showers. O how amazing to smell the fragrance of blooms carried with the refreshing breeze of the afternoons warm air. O how sweet to hear the birds singing their own special melodies throughout the sky.
All these wonderful changes in just a short period of time. The bitter cold of winter which caused the surroundings to turn brown and dim give way in just a couple of months to the marvelous springing forth of new life.
Today may be your day to experience newness of life. Today may be your day to be filled with joy and with the Holy Ghost. The same Spirit which raised Jesus from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies the bible teaches. Today may be your day to be filled with the Holy Ghost and with fire. The bible teaches we were not given the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Christ in us, the hope of glory is the mystery revealed. O what amazing hope because He has risen from the dead. The hope made possible by Jesus Christ the Son of God having been made manifest in the flesh by many infallible proofs, believed on in the world, giving His life on the cross, resurrecting from the dead, and ascending to the Father. The hope which is within the Holy scriptures that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
Jesus taught His disciples about faith after they noticed the fig tree which Jesus had cursed withered up.
Mark 11
22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.
Hebrews 11
33 Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,
