The reader of these blogs might be thinking, “The first 19 blogs in the series sound too good to be true. The big push for accountability-based escape from sins of the flesh gained traction in the mid-1990s [1]. If escape without accountability were possible, surely other authors would have written about it in the last 25-plus years. I need to see some Case Study results in support of the theological claims made in A Way of Escape.”
CASE STUDY RESULTS IN SUPPORT OF THEOLOGICAL CLAIMS MADE IN A WAY OF ESCAPE
1) REDUCED NUMBER AND STRENGTH OF INCOMINGS
Regular, near-daily viewing of the Spirit-anointed apps rewires neural pathways, which, in turn, significantly reduces both the number and strength of enemy “incomings.” In the Way of Escape Case Study, these reduced-strength attacks of the flesh occurred only about one-fifth (1/5) as often, once cleaner neural pathways were established.
2) COMPLETE MIND RENEWAL
In the Way of Escape Case Study, complete mind renewal was also achieved. Without ever having to enlist the aid of an accountability partner or group (for my definition of complete mind renewal, see www.wileygrafbooks.com/news/complete-mind-renewal, or page 117 of A Way of Escape).
Crucial to achieving mind renewal without accountability is to first realize that we are not in this battle alone. All genuinely born-again believers are fully indwelt by the Holy Spirit at conversion. For the still-struggling, mind renewal without accountability may require doing nothing more than learning how to step up the degree to which they walk in the Spirit (Galatians 5:16). For the still-struggling, mind renewal without accountability may require doing nothing more than dropping the passivity, and learning how to actively pursue more regular relationship intimacy with the Holy Spirit.
3) ACCOUNTABILITY PARTNER/GROUP NOT REQUIRED!
Finally, and most significantly, the Way of Escape Case Study demonstrates complete mind renewal without ever having to enlist the aid of an accountability partner or group. The Way of Escape Battle Plan relies solely on the Holy Spirit’s power to deliver believers from lusts of the flesh (Galatians 5:16).
I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh (Galatians 5:16).
As of this writing (September 2022), this sexually healthy, single Christian male has not “acted out” sexually for 100% of days over the most recent 42 months. Yet again, all credit and praise to the Holy Spirit, and His inner-working power to deliver believers from lusts of the flesh (Galatians 5:16).
