I define poetry as an effort to share a moving experience by using language that is chosen and structured differently from an ordinary writing style.

Using words differently from an ordinary writing style is the poet’s way of trying to awaken something in not only the poet’s experience, but perhaps also in the reader’s experience.
Because we have the ability to understand and appreciate various forms of literature, God used many genres to communicate His Word.
