We each have a unique purpose. Ultimately, it is to glorify God. When we choose to live a healthy lifestyle, it empowers us to achieve God’s intended purpose for our life. This glorifies God. Jesus glorified God by fulfilling ALL that His Father intended Him to.
John 17:4 AMP
I have glorified You [down here] on the earth by completing the work that You gave Me to do.
As believers we should always desire to be like Jesus, do as He did. We should aim to finish God’s assignment for us here on earth. We need our health intact to complete our assignment.
You do not have to worry about what your purpose is. It has already been assigned by God. Our fingerprints are different and unique, as are His planned roles, for each of us. He has us all marked for a set role. My purpose is not the same as yours. We are all valuable to God.
You can ask God to reveal to you your purpose, if you don’t know what it is and He will.
Whatever our God given assignment is, good health and energy will be required to fulfil it. In a previous blog, titled ‘Your body is not your own’ I discussed the idea of fuelling our body respectfully, as it is the Lord’s temple. Another reason to fuel our bodies intentionally is to keep it healthy to enable us better fulfil our purpose.
When we eat unhealthy foods and generally do not look after our bodies well for sustained periods, we can cause our wellness to gradually slip away. We just cannot accomplish all that The Lord set for us to do if we are in poor health. Not possible!
We must stop making excuses about looking after our bodies, His Temple. We have things to do, our unique purpose to fulfil. Let’s get mission (fulfilling purpose)minded as we eat…remember always that we are what we eat. This should motivate us to eat well (mainly nutrient dense foods), exercise and keep our body healthy and energised to enable us fulfil our purpose.
Make the choice to live healthy for the rest your lifetime. Otherwise you stand the possibility of losing all the gains made…regaining weight lost and losing elevated energy levels too. Remember also that stress can have far reaching consequences on our wellbeing. Please see a previous blog by me ‘Stress management, the often overlooked component of a healthy life’
Make living healthy a lifestyle for you.
My book ‘Moderation Is Key’ will show you how to live healthy to fulfil purpose and be well for the rest of your life here on earth.
