The Consistent Fitness Plan
1 Timothy 4:8
For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
Interestingly, as important as exercise can be to the natural man what a person eats may be as important if not even far more important. Eating the right foods can improve heart health and help with blood pressure. It is amazing what all natural fruits and vegetables can add to the quality of fitness. So, if these wonderful benefits are considered in the Word of truth as profiting little in the big picture of our life’s, and godliness is profitable having promise of the life that now is and in the world to come then the benefits of exercising godliness far exceed that of just bodily exercise.
The holy scriptures teach that God would that we prosper and be in health even as our souls prosper. Therefore it seems quite evident that the good Lord wants His people healthy and well naturally and spiritually. This point being made in comparison to natural exercise and the importance of what we eat and how we exercise discernment spiritually to promote godliness. The bible teaches that Jesus’ words are spirit and they are life. Amazingly healthy it sounds like if we eat God’s words given by His own son, the savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Oftentimes when people eat right and exercise naturally they begin to have more energy and power to work and enjoy the good things in their lives. By Him we live and move and have our being. So, when you think about the God of heaven who can sound off throughout the earth with thunder that causes the earth to shake, the still small voice Elijah heard and quaked, and the power of God’s message of love, grace, and mercy to mankind through His infallible Holy Word.
The power of God is revealed through the holy scriptures in divine power when mixed with faith. The combination brings about an explosion of life in the inner man that is both abounding with revelation of light and truth that breaks the cage in sunder so the bird can be free. Know the truth and the truth shall make you free the bible declares. However, sin is the cage that mankind are slowly deceived to take the wrong way through the allurement of the lust of flesh, lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, along with lies and deceit of the enemy to think they are actually going to be free if they ignore their good conscience to delve deeper and deeper into the mire of evil and debauchery. Not even perceiving they have entered the dark cage and locked in being servants to their own evil desires and bondage which some seek to escape but only find themselves stuck in the bottom of the cage flailing for their lives unable to discern the difference between good and evil. The Lord is so merciful and full of lovingkindness that He sends people to share the love of the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ with those bound in the cage. The cage is then opened for the hurting soul to truly be free from sin and darkness if they receive the grace of God and salvation through the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. The blood of Jesus can forever free a lost soul from the terrible pain and guilt of their sins or the offense and hurt inflicted upon them through someone elses’ sins which led them to go astray. God’s peace and holy spirit can flood that soul as they sore high like an eagle above the heights of the mountains and behold the old broken cage Jesus freed their troubled soul from.
