To teach children to accept what we are and be happy with what we have. When a house bird gets out of his cage and flies to the roof of the school across the road, he quickly learns valuable lessons after he gets scared and teased by what seems to be bully birds. He then befriends a kind and helpful bird who helps him to get back to his home. In his adventures, he learns to know different types of birds and that being different is entirely acceptable, and that we must be content with what we have.
The fact that a house bird (someone’s pet) escaped his cage to find ‘freedom’ and discovered the world is not what he thought it would be away from his cage. He learned that he was indeed loved by his owner and was free all this time. That teaches children that we can choose to be happy with what we have.
