Jesus: He Which Is, Which Was, and Which is to Come
The Seed
Luke 8:11
Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
A few years ago I was working on a roof for a friend of mine who is a deacon at the church. His fence had a vine and what looked like a plastic flower that was so beautiful with purple and white that looked so perfect I thought it was a fake flower. So, I asked him if the flower was fake and he told me the flower was real. He eventually told me it was a Jesus Christ passion vine. Well, I have a purple thumb which means I can hardly grow a weed when it comes to gardening, but my wife with her green thumb bought some Jesus Christ passion vine seeds and one seedling. Thank the Lord, the seedling is growing well, but the other seeds haven’t broken the ground yet which was expected for them to take a while to grow. We have watered them and placed them so they get plenty of sun and shade to help the good soil produce better and hope they become beautiful flowers like the ones we beheld the first time we saw them. The seed is the word of God is a wonderful thought for how the Lord’s message of hope and eternal life can transform our life into a beautiful display of His mercy.
1 Thessalonians 2:13
For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.
The phrase “ the word of the Lord or word of God” is manifest in the Holy Scriptures so many times providing an absolute distinction between the words of mere men’s inspiration and the word of God and His inspiration. The words of man can be mere opinions, deceitfulness, confusion, misunderstandings, fleshly wisdom, enticing words of man’s wisdom, or more specifically the lack of the knowledge of the truth in man’s effort to figure out from their limited perspectives the all powerful, all knowing, Creator of all things even though he has given men the capacity for knowledge and understanding. On the other hand, the word of God in truth revealed by demonstration of the Spirit of the living God in power to holy men who spake by the Holy Ghost is a sure word of prophecy handed down by eye witnesses and faithful witnesses many of which validated the gospel of Jesus’ life, death on the cross, resurrection, and ascension with their very lives.
1 Peter 1:23
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
The old song lyrics that resound something like…kings and kingdoms shall all pass away, but there is something about that name…Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. The beautiful promises of God are yeah and amen and they are eternal promises. Therefore, one day when the waiting is over and the winds of time have washed over the flesh of men, the truth of God’s word which He has given to His messengers to preach and proclaim the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ the son of God came in the flesh to deliver men from their iniquities and deliver them out of darkness into His marvelous light. So, we have a wonderful hope when we believe in Jesus Christ which Is, and which Was, and which Is to come, the Almighty because He would that we prosper and be in health even as our soul prospers like a flower reaching its full bloom in beautiful splendor to behold. The word of God also liveth and abideth forever. Therefore, when the natural body maybe planted in weakness in the ground like a seed, if a person has been sealed by the Holy Spirit and promise the manifestation of the sons of God will be revealed in power as the body is raised at the power of God’s Holy Word into a spiritual body. Now we know in part, but then we shall be known even as we are known, and He shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto His glorious body. The seed of the flower that will grow and never fade away.
