God longs to prepare a table for you among your enemies. He longs to show those who hate you that his favor rests on you. Often when we are in the midst of struggles, it’s easy to lose sight of the blessing and protection of God. We focus on what is happening instead of what God is doing. Changing our mindset is the only way we can truly see the hand of God working in the most challenging situations of life. Events will not make sense, and people will hurt us if we do not refocus on the big picture of God’s work in our lives.
You will waste an incredible amount of time if you focus on the trials and never strive to see the triumphs. God’s plan will not always be easy to discern, but He will always be at work, perfecting what he started in us. The key to seeing your trials turn into triumphs is trust. We must be willing to trust that God knows what he is doing and will bring us through the trials of life unscathed. In most cases, God does not take us out of the fire, but he will make us fireproof. Trusting the One who created us is the only sure way to make sense of life’s every twist and turn.
Zechariah, as an Israelite, could have given up on God. A foreign nation occupied his country, and the political leaders of his day were corrupt. It would have been easy to throw up his hands and quit. Without faith in God, none of the events in his era would have made sense, but Zechariah dared to trust God, believing that in God’s timing, all things would work out. Do you have the trust that Zechariah had? Maybe 2022 has been nothing but one twist and turn after another, and you are almost to the point of quitting. I challenge you not to give up but instead dare to trust that God knows what he is doing and will fulfill his plan in your life if you place your complete trust in him.
