A triangle is a shape introduced to us from a young age. Tri meaning three. Three corners and three lines. Join the three corners with three lines and interconnectedness gives rise to the familiar and complete triangle.
In research, scientists aim to prove or disprove a phenomenon or intervention, an example being a Covid-19 virus cure. Quantitative studies conducted by researchers have to fulfill certain validity and reliability components to ensure that the results of such experiments can be claimed or generalized to another or broader populations.
How can one know if biblical phenomena of biblical historical events occurred?
In qualitative research, validity measures are known as trustworthiness. How do we trust that what the researchers are claiming or observing is the case and true? Triangulation is the key to foster trustworthiness where multiple data sources or methods are used. Multiple data methods are used to document data collection which builds trustworthiness. The corners are figuratively connected to give the triangle and triangulation is achieved.
Science has attempted to prove and disprove the existence of God. A higher being. The Triune God. Is this not perhaps the reason why the Triune-God is so well documented in the most shoplifted and read book of all time. Is it also not the case why God sent Jesus and thereafter the Holy Spirit, the Helper. God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Trinity.
‘Nevertheless, I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you,” Jesus spoke the words.
John 16:7
The bible is filled with Triangulation. To foster Trustworthiness. To improve the degree to which humanity can have confidence in the existence of the Triune God.Â
Let us not have doubt but by reading come to the full knowledge and understanding of the trust we can have in the existence of a higher being. Trustworthiness in the Creator, provider, a strengthener of the weak, poor, sick, and lame.
Draw the perfect triangle on your heart every morning, throughout the day, and before resting at night, and know your God surrounds you in a perfect Triangle.
With love always,
Monique
