There are choices we make in life to pursue what we feel best suits us according to what is prudent for our destiny. The mistakes made prior make us wiser, and therefore help forge a path that will ultimately lead us to eternal good. However this comes with a high price and thus creating a series of challenges in accomplishing the goal in mind. Deep down you know the narrow way may not be popular but it is indeed the best way to life in peace and contentment.
I have decided to not be one who follows the crowd but a forge a path that prioritises what matters most in the end. It has come with consequences that have made me realise that nothing comes easy and that this life requires a fight to maintain a sense of dignity. The fight I am referring to is not of a violent nature but it is simply holding your ground to that which you have set in your heart to do. Many may challenge that conviction and some will try to persuade you otherwise but when truth shines its light on you; then you know that relenting is not an option. The truth makes you free and as uncomfortable as that may be, its far better than a lie. Lies bind, lies deceive and lies would have you live comfortably in that which would ultimately destroy you. In essence the truth that most people won’t admit that is that a lie provides a false sense of comfort, an illusion to help justify a turn away from the truth. More powerful than that is the truth and more so is its liberating beauty that can colour your life if you embrace it.
The truth is that pleasure should never be the goal and instant gratification is just that; instant and then it’s over, never fulfilling but drawing you deeper and deeper in a world of darkness. When you make a choice to embrace the light; the contrary will always call for your return and the choice is for you to make on who to heed.
I know that I am not alone and that you too may have made brave choices to say no to lewd living, unhealthy and unproductive relationships, profane things and that which produces no good; but from time to time these choices must be defended before the masses of opposing critics. Many would not understand and I don’t think we should live to make people understand what they don’t want to understand.
I encourage you to continue on this road and hold on to virtue as fulfilment does not come from pleasing people but pleasing your maker and living out your purpose.
Don’t apologise for being you.
Don’t apologise for taking a stand for truth.
Don’t apologise for saying no to destruction.
Don’t apologise for living according to your convictions.
Don’t apologise for pursuing godliness…life without the life giver is meaningless. All is vanity and that which is done for HIM will last.
Precious warrior just be unapologetically you, having no qualms about the steps you’ve taken forward knowing it’s for the best.
