Understanding Your Spirit Life!

Part 1

1 Thessalonians 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Every believer is a tripartite being. He is a spirit being that has a soul (emotions and intellect) and lives in a body( the home to his senses).

The aspect of the believer that got born again is his spirit, not his mind nor his physical body. John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

As touching our minds, we all have the responsibility to renew our minds with the word of God. No one is going to do that for you. You can’t get that done by proxy. You have to seat down with the word of God until you think and act on it. You will never get to renew your mind as you should if you don’t spend quality time meditating on the word of God.

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Until a believer renews his mind, he will remain a slave to worldliness and sensualities. That is the reason the scriptures admonishes us to ‘Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.’ Col. 3:16.

God’s tool for the renewal of our minds remain His eternal and life-giving word! The more we look into the glass/mirror of the word of God (Jam.1:25) and receive with meekness the ENGRAFTED word (Jam.1:21), we are metamorphosed from one level of glory to another through the instrumentality of the Holy Spirit. (But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the LORD.
(2 Cor. 3:18).
