The place you find yourself in is a product of the decisions made by you and others in your life. You may and should have dreams and aspirations to do the unthinkable, maybe even change the world as we know it; but the reality of your present circumstances could be far from the picture painted in your mind. The harshness of your struggles may clash with the blissful desire to achieve greatness.
Contrary to the words of a popular song “No matter what”, dreams do really come true. It’s not my opinion, nor a cheesy statement because of my imagination, but it is the truth. If you would open your eyes and step outside of yourself, there is a world of individuals living the life they could only dream of. There are too many to count, and many of which can bare testimony, that what they have is much more than they could have ever dreamed of.
I am grateful for every success story I have ever heard, because it gave me hope that my story too, could, can and will change. I salute every person who has been able to rise above adversity because they are clear reminders that you don’t have to remain in a pit but that change is very much possible.
Sarah Jakes Roberts is an example of individual who has turned out different to what her past dictated. She emphasises that you cannot hope for things to change and still remain the same. The destination you want to get to will require you to make some adjustments. There is hardly ever anything wrong with the dream but the fault lies with the actions or rather lack of action to make it happen. The manifestation materialises when you are given to the process of transformation. A shift firstly in your thinking, perspective, your speech and your associations will give birth to other changes that can ultimately lead to the turnaround of your circumstances.
Now only you can provide specifics regarding your past and present circumstances. Your journey thus far may have not been perfect at all but you are still alive for a reason. Others may boast they were born with a silver spoon while you were born with no spoon at all. No matter how extreme it has been, you have the power to turn it around for your good with the help of God. You can choose to use take the lemons life has thrown at you and make lemonade.
The crucial question is “what’s stopping you from pursuing your dreams”. Obstacles maybe in the way but the only power they hold is what you allow them have. If you would dare to believe then they have no power in keeping you from being free and fully alive. Poverty, sickness, broken relationships, imperfect home life situations pose serious hindrances but if you are given to making it happen, then it can really happen.
All the success stories all around us are testimony that it is really possible. You too, can rise above adversity, and weather the toughest of storms against all odds. As much as things may be working against you; there are many other things working for you. For every disadvantage there lies an advantage for you. The ball lies in your court and it’s for you to maximise the moment.
So dear friend what stopping you?
