WORD PRACTITIONERS
Teaching the teachers can be quite a herculean task!
The greatest tool available to a man of God in the fulfilment of his call is still PRAYER and the WORD.
Acts 6:2 Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables. 6:4 But we will give ourselves CONTINUALLY to PRAYER, and to the MINISTRY OF THE WORD.
Other things such as general church administration, etc are secondary since he can raise his own Philips to handle them.
Any minister who fail in this primary area of his calling, will ultimately look for some dubious substitutes to augment himself in ministry.
Until we develop the mindset that the work of the ministry is a great labour, we’ll still treat it with levity and ultimately end up a mediocre in our call.
Colossians 4:17 And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.
Acts 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
We LABOUR in the WORD and DOCTRINE. It’s not politics or motivational speaking. It’s WORD and DOCTRINE!
1 Timothy 5:17 Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.
MINISTRY IS FOR LABOURERS! It’s not a jamboree.
1 Corinthians 3:9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.
A call to ministry on whatever capacity is a call into the Father’s business and we are privileged to have been called into it.
Luke 2:49 And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?
But Jesus answered them, My Father has worked [even] until now, [He has never ceased working; He is still working] and I, too, must be at [divine] work.(Amp)
John 5:17 .
We are the result of his workmanship Eph. 2:10!
WHEN THE WORD GROWS, IT PRODUCES GREAT REWARDS.
Acts 6:7 And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.
THE WORD IS SPIRIT AND LIFE!
John. 6:63,
THE WORD GIVES STABILITY.
Eze.2:2
THE WORD PURIFIES. John 15:3
THE SEED WE SOW THAT DETERMINES OUR HARVEST IN LIFE AND MINISTRY IS THE WORD.
Mark 4:14,15a.
My primary responsibility as a minister is to prepare good seeds 2 Tim. 2:15 and depend on the Holy Spirit to create opportunities to sow them without let or hindrance.
